Studio doodles

I'm doodling some new designs for a new set of mini-paintings I'm working on. I'm feeling kind of tapped out with my old designs, and I've been having a hard time getting anything good to come out, so I spent some time going over old photos on the puter and printing them out in the hopes that it'll jog something out of my creative brain.

I'm sure that if I spent more time outside it would be easier to come up with something, but the irony of trying to make even part of your income from art is that you spend so much time in the studio that you don't have time to get into the landscapes you're trying to paint. That means I likely won't do any canoe pieces this year, I'm sorry to say.

Ok enough rambling and back to some drawing:

Spring Hike added to website

I've added the new painting with a better quality image to my website. You can see it here: http://www.marcelguldemond.com/Artwork/Details/766

Now I'm going to do some more mini-paintings, since I seem to keep running out of them (not a bad thing at all, I know) and I have two summer shows coming up.

New Art Festival Confirmed

I've just received confirmation that I've been accepted to the New Art Festival, which used to be known as Art in the Park, in Ottawa. It'll be happening at Central Park in the Glebe, June 5 and 6.

I'm looking forward to it. It'll be nice to do a show that's close to home.

Painting finished

Finally. Wow. This one took a while. Now I just have to think of a title. Mucky-boot Hike or something like that.

Muskoka Summer Show confirmed

I received my confirmation for the Muskoka Arts & Crafts Annual Summer Show, so I'm happy to say that I'll be showing there this summer in July.  It's been a good show for the two previous years that I've shown there, so I'm hopeful it'll be good again this year. Click here for the site for the show.

Looks like progress

I always feel like these paintings are never going to get finished, but then they get to a stage where they look like they're getting really close. Then I feel better, especially if I pretend that there aren't that many of those little bits that still need doing. Haha, yeah...
