Hello Everyone,
I hope you’ve all had a nice summer. I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me summer always seems to be over much too quickly. This one was nice and we did take the kids outside as much as we could, but it’s always over before it actually feels like it was a summer. One thing I did do was clean up and re-organized my studio, and I’m hopeful that the reorganization will allow me to be a little more productive.
Which is something I’m going to need because I have another show coming up this November at the Elaine Fleck Gallery in Toronto. The opening will be Thursday November 7th, at 6pm. More details here: http://www.elainefleckgallery.com/events.html
Special thanks to my employers at Fluid Media Inc. for being so flexible and allowing me to take some time away from work to get my paintings ready for the show.
work in progress photo of a style I'm experimenting with: putting a painting into a comic book type panel as a kind of inset, with a more abstract background around it. |
November seems far away, but it really isn’t, and I’m already getting wound up about whether this next set of paintings will compare well with my previous shows.
Check in on my my blog or on twitter to see how the painting’s going and if it is indeed matching up. The robot in the top image will be there, and I'm planning on some big story book type landscapes, but I can't really say yet what the final results are going to be. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Marcel
