Experiments in blobs - or, yes I'm stupid, here's why:

So I decide to keep it simple with this painting, and what do I do? Try out a tricky painting technique called double loading. That makes this complicated, and me stupid. I'm sure it would look fine without this technique.


The technique involves putting two colours on the brush at the same time, and laying them on without having them blend together. Canadian national icon Tom Thomson was a master of this. Here you can see I've been trying to get red to streak through the blue of the sky. I think it's working.
